Demise of a former Michigan football running back
Sadly, one of the Michigan football family’s previous members has passed away.
Reportedly on Twitter, Mister Simpson, a running back from Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain who played for the Wolverines in 2005 and 2006 before returning home to Cincinnati, passed away.
Simpson was a three-star running back when he committed, and according to Sports Reference, he redshirted his first year in Ann Arbor and gained two carries for 11 yards in 2006. That year, he also managed two tackles. He recorded tackles against Indiana later in the season and in the “game of the century” against Ohio State. In 2006, he had both of his carries in Week 2 against Central Michigan.
