The Indiana Pacers are becoming a highly talked-about title contender in the near future thanks to Tyrese Haliburton, who is rapidly emerging as an NBA superstar and making the team a must-watch in the Eastern Conference.
But as things stand right now, the Pacers probably can’t compete with the Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks, or even the Philadelphia 76ers; this is a problem that needs to be fixed if they want to be taken seriously going forward.
Apparently, Indiana might already be hard at work on improving the roster around Haliburton, with Toronto Raptors stars OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam being linked to the team.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Pacers have already had discussions about potentially adding these players from Toronto, via “Run It Back” on Twitter.
Adding Siakam and/or Anunoby would be a game-changer for the Pacers as they try to build a contender in the East while attempting to mold Haliburton into a superstar and the new face of the franchise.
Both Raptors stars have been mentioned in trade rumors frequently over the past couple of years, as it seems inevitable that Toronto will be making some moves in the near future with a rebuild potentially in motion.
If the Pacers can make some moves to bring in players of this caliber, Indiana might thrust themselves into the championship conversation in the East, but it all depends on what the team gives up in a trade and whether Siakam and/or Anunoby ultimately fit with what they’re doing.
