The loss of Trayanum now leads the Buckeyes running back room uncertain heading into their Cotton Bowl matchup with the Missouri Tigers in Arlington, with Miyan Williams (who was already out for the season) declaring for the NFL Draft, Evan Pryor entering the portal, and TreVeyon Henderson still undecided as to his plans for next season.

This season, Trayanum filled in for Henderson at crucial times for the Buckeyes, especially when the latter was hurt. He ran 85 times for 373 yards and three touchdowns.

This season, he participated in every Ohio State game.

Trayanum’s best game of the season game in the Buckeyes 63-10 win over Western Kentucky, where he rushed five times for 56 yards and a score. He was also key in the Bucks’ 37-17 win over Maryland when he rushed 20 times for 61 yards and a score.

He also was responsible for the walk-off score against Notre Dame earlier in the season.

Trayanum first came to the Buckeyes as a linebacker recruit, changing positions later on, and eventually becoming a key part of the offense.

Dallan Hayden, whose eligibility is unaffected by the bowl game, is expected to be the backup running back for the Buckeyes now that Trayanum is out.
