A furious Following Florida State’s CFP rejection, Mike Norvell utterly destroyed the committee, and fans adored his vehement speech.

The College Football Playoff committee had to make a tough choice regarding the four-team playoff for the first time in a long time. Furthermore, Florida State is quite justified in being incensed about the teams the committee chose.

Florida State was the first unbeaten team from a Power 5 conference to miss the playoffs, finishing at No. 5 in the final CFP rankings despite going undefeated and winning the ACC title.

Alabama (12-1) instead defeated top-ranked Georgia in the SEC title game to leapfrog FSU. Mike Norvell, the head coach of Florida State, and his players were visibly shocked by the announcement.

That was just the beginning. Shortly after the CFP selection show concluded, Florida State released a statement from Norvell. He didn’t hold back at all as the committee essentially penalized FSU for overcoming a tough injury to quarterback Jordan Travis.

It was inevitable that one team would be disappointed with the way the season unfolded, but it’s extremely difficult to leave out the unbeaten Power 5 champion. It makes sense why fans were pleased with Norvell’s statement.
