Transfer Portal: Tennessee extends an offer to Remington Strickland, a former offensive lineman at Texas A&M.

Tennessee is actively pursuing former Texas A&M offensive lineman Remington Strickland, as evidenced by another offer it made through the transfer portal. The former four-star prospect declared that he would be hitting the portal on November 30th and that he would still be eligible for two seasons after that.

Strickland revealed that Tennessee had extended an offer to him a day later.

Strickland was a top 300 overall prospect in the 2021 class, coming out of Sugar Land, Texas. He checks in at 6-4, 300 pounds, and could provide Tennessee help at any of the three interior offensive line spots.

He redshirted during the 2021 season, then appeared in nine games for the Aggies over the next two seasons. Strickland did not make any starts during his time in College Station.

Houston, Illinois, Cal, Arizona State, Boston College, Vanderbilt and others are among the early offers for Strickland since entering the portal.

Tennessee could get center Cooper Mays back for another year, along with guard Javontez Spraggins. However, veteran Ollie Lane will exit and reserve guard Mo Clipper has already hit the portal. More certainly could follow. We’ve seen how important numbers are up front, so keeping that room stocked full of capable bodies is a must. Tennessee did that with John Campbell and Andrej Karic last year, and they’ll likely do it again during this cycle.
