Ben Standig of The Athletic claims that Obada broke his lower leg many times. Obada is one of the most adored players on the Washington team in addition to being outstanding in his position.

According to sources who spoke with @TheAthleticNFL, Commanders DE Efe Obada had surgery on Sunday night to treat many lower leg fractures sustained during Washington’s loss to New York Giants.

In the first quarter, Obaba, a free agent in 2024, was taken off the field. Brutal for a really kind person.

Everyone is aware that Obada’s vacancy on the roster needs to be filled by the Commanders. Once a deep defensive end, Washington was down to Casey Toohill and two rookies, Andre Jones Jr. and K.J. Henry, following the trades of Chase Young and Montez Sweat and the injuries to Obada and James Smith-Williams.

On Sunday, Henry played a great game against the Giants.

The Commanders signed pass rusher Jalen Harris from the Chicago Bears practice squad on Monday after placing Obada on injured reserve.

Harris, who is she?

6-foot-4, 257-pound Harris, an undrafted rookie from Arizona, led the Bears in preseason tackles with five and 1.5 sacks. Harris had 25 career starts in 56 games for Arizona. His 173 total tackles at the end of his college career included 25.5 for loss and 13.5 sacks.

Additionally, the Commanders excluded safety Troy Apke from IR.
