Eight players’ injuries can be updated by the Parramatta Eels after 2024 preseason training begins.
After undergoing surgery to treat a damaged eye socket, Mitchell Moses has resumed full training. Moses’ 2023 season was cut short by the injury, but he fully recovered and resumed training on Monday.
Clint Gutherson has reported for pre-season following surgery on a knee injury sustained in the Eels’ final match of 2023. The Eels Co-Captain is due to commence running prior to Christmas and aims to be fit for Round 1.
Junior Paulo recently underwent surgery on a chronic toe injury. He will return to training in January.
Daejarn Asi ruptured a tendon in his finger while representing Samoa at the Pacific Championships. He has received surgery and is expected to return to full fitness in the New Year.
Makahesi Makatoa was also injured at the Pacific Championships playing for the Cook Islands. The prop suffered a torn pectoral muscle which required surgery. He too will be unable to train until the New Year.
Arthur Miller Stephen recently suffered a serious knee injury which will unfortunately rule him out for the entire 2024 season. The rookie back has undergone surgery and commenced his recovery.
Matt Doorey and Zac Cini, who both suffered injuries in the closing weeks of 2023, have returned to full fitness and began training with the squad last week.
