Sergio Brown, a former Indianapolis Colts player, is missing after his mother was discovered dead near her home over the weekend, according to several media reports.

Myrtle Brown, 73, died as a result of a homicide investigation in Maywood, Illinois.

Brown’s relatives announced on social media on Saturday that he and his mother were gone. Her body was eventually discovered in a creek close to her home.

Brown, 35, played for the Colts from 2012 to 2014, as well as three other clubs.

Maywood, Illinois is a Chicago enclave.

Multiple media reports and posts on X − formerly Twitter − report former Indianapolis Colts defensive back Sergio Brown is missing, and his mother, Myrtle Brown, has been was found dead near her home over the weekend.

One post mentioned the Browns were headed to a family reunion on Aug. 25 in Mississippi, but never arrived.

The post shared information from The AWARE Foundation Inc., noting Myrtle Brown’s body had been recovered Sept. 16 in Addison Creek near her Maywood, Ill., home. Sergio Brown remains missing.

Sergio Brown was listed at 6-foot-2 and approximately 210 pounds. The 35-year-old has brown eyes and dark brown/black hair.
