Mohamed Ibrahim, a running back, has rejoined the Detroit Lions practice squad.
A well-known player is joining the Detroit Lions’ running backs group.
With injuries in their running backs room, the Detroit Lions are bringing back Mohamed Ibrahim, signing him to their practice squad, per a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The Lions have had a run of back luck among their running backs of late. Starter David Montgomery injured his ribs and is expected to miss some time. Co-starter Jahmyr Gibbs has missed the last two weeks with a hamstring injury but is trending in the right direction to return this week. Craig Reynolds has been healthy and solid, but he is the only healthy running back on the active roster as RB4 Zonovan Knight was placed on injured reserve last week due to a shoulder injury and is expected to miss the remainder of the season.
Last week against the Bucs, the Lions called up Devine Ozigbo from the practice squad, but more depth is required, and Ibrahim fits the bill
After this year’s NFL Draft, Ibrahim was signed as a UDFA and appeared to have a chance to contend for the RB3 position, which Craig Reynolds ultimately took. Ibrahim was making good progress throughout training camp until he had an injury that prevented him from competing. As a result, he was dismissed from the competition and received compensation.
The Lions are giving Ibrahim another opportunity to make an impact on the team now that the injury settlement limits have passed. Due to injuries, he might be asked to contribute early, but because of his developmental potential, he is a player who could be around for the entire season.
The Lions are not required to make a corresponding move on their practice squad, as they had an open spot after promoting Dan Skipper to the active roster over the weekend.

terrible landslide defeat against the Ravens for Dan Campbell and his staff
According to Lions coach Dan Campbell, Ibrahim should “be OK” based on early signs.
Campbell remarked, “But he’s going to say here overnight.” “He’s hardy. That really strains our team, and I detest that for him.”
With starting rusher David Montgomery sidelined with a rib ailment and backup Craig Reynolds dealing with toe and hamstring issues, the Lions were shorthanded at running back going into Sunday.
After missing two games due to a strained hamstring, Jahmyr Gibbs made his comeback on Sunday and ran for 68 yards. In his brief play off the bench, Reynolds had three carries for 16 yards.
According to Campbell, Lions fullback Kalif Raymond also departed the game on Sunday due to cramps, while Malcolm Rodriguez, a linebacker who also saw some action as an offensive fullback, hurt his ankle.
After the game, Rodriguez hobbled around the locker room but declared his ankle to be “all good.”
