West Coast Eagles lock away young guns, forwards, and defenders as four new deals announced
West Coast have confirmed new contracts for small striker Noah Long and midfielder Jai Culley as part of a quartet of contract extensions announced on Tuesday.
According to The West Australian, forward Jake Waterman has signed for another two years after being unimpressed by the club’s original offer.
The West Coast also indicated that defenders Alex Witherden and Jai Culley were on the verge of signing one-year contracts for next season, which the West Coast confirmed on Tuesday.
Long, who was selected with the Eagles’ final choice in last year’s draft, will stay with the team through the end of 2026 after the club extended his initial two-year draft contract for another two seasons.
The Eagles have made nine list changes already this off-season, delisting Luke Foley, Samo Petrevski-Seton, Isiah Winder, Xavier O’Neill, Greg Clark and Connor West.
They join retirees Nic Naitanui, Shannon Hurn and Luke Shuey in not being on the list for next season.
