The Dallas Cowboys won their comeback game and hoped to have regained their confidence, mojo, momentum, or whatever you want to call it. A 38-3 thrashing of a coach like Bill Belichick will put wind in your sails. But things are only getting worse.

Dallas will face the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday night, and the Niners appear to be one of the league’s top teams. The Cowboys have lost to the 49ers in the playoffs twice in a row and will need all hands on deck to prevail this time.

When discussing the Cowboys’ injuries, Coach Mike McCarthy gave us an early diagnosis of all hands on deck.

Rico Dowdle missed much of the Pats game due to an injured hip. At the same time, Zack Martin is nursing a bruised quadriceps.

McCarthy did speak, stating that they may join the rehab group on Wednesday and have not been ruled out of the game.

Tyron Smith is also improving, according to McCarthy, and might practice this week.

Micah Parsons, the Lion, was observed hobbling during the Pats game but continued to play. He doesn’t appear to be a problem for Sunday.

Tyler Biadasz and Zack Martin are both questionable for the Cowboys.
The final injury report for the Cowboys’ game against the Cardinals comes in, and two offensive lineman, Zack Martin and Tyler Biadasz, are listed as questionable.

The Dallas Cowboys are dealing with one giant piece of bad injury news, and that is the loss of Trevon Diggs for the season to an ACL tear. There’s nothing that can be done about that now, but the team has other injury issues that need to be addressed. Dallas released their final injury report for the Cardinals game and besides Diggs, who will soon move to IR, Zack Martin and Tyler Biadasz are questionable for the game.

The Cowboys are optimistic that Martin and Biadasz will be able to play. They will both need to test their injuries in a walkthrough tomorrow, but both are expected to play.

The good news is that Tyler Smith will be returning to the team. Donovan Wilson and Brandin Cooks will also be able to participate on Sunday because they are no longer listed as injured. Chuma Edoga is also available, as is safety Jayron Kearse, who has been battling illness.

All-Pro right guard Zack Martin suffered a quad bruise in Sunday’s win over the Patriots and will be limited in practice on Wednesday. He’s slated to play against San Francisco in Week 5. Martin exited the game early in the fourth quarter after being hit in the leg, and he did not return.

“He had both his knee and ankle looked at,” coach Mike McCarthy said on Monday. “I’m not worried. He may be limited for the time being (at practice on Wednesday). We haven’t completed it yet.”

Backup running backwards Rico Dowdle underwent an MRI, which indicated a hip contusion. It’s the same hip that was fixed surgically in 2021.

The hip ailment worried team officials, but an MRI cleared off any concerns about significant damage.

Tyron Smith, the starting left tackle, has missed the last two games due to a knee injury and will continue to work in rehab throughout practices, with the chance of returning to practice this week.
His status as a player will not be established until later in the week. Chuma Edoga took up at left tackle in Tyron Smith’s absence and drew praise from offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

Chuma “Just the things we’ve asked of him, playing left tackle in this league is difficult,” Schottenheimer said. “Obviously, he’s done it before, if you watched the length that we played with yesterday, the punch, we wanted to neutralize (Patriots Matthew Judon).” That was a key part of the game plan yesterday, and he got a lot of matched up with him.”
