The 23-year-old defender has hardly featured since joining Burnley a year ago and spent the latter half of last season on loan at Coventry.

He played a key role in Coventry’s run to the playoff final and the club want him back at the club ahead of the new season

McNally is not part of Vincent Kompany’s plans at Burnley and the club may cash in on him this summer.

And Coventry are pushing to secure a deal to take McNally to the club in the ongoing transfer window.

Millwall are also interested in the defender but are plotting to sign him on an initial loan deal this summer.

However, Coventry may try to buy him as they will have funds available from potential player sales.

Their interest in a permanent deal could help them edge ahead of Millwall in the race to sign the Burnley defender this summer.
