Hull City’s strongest XI following the entrance of 11 new players, including Twine, Delap, and Philogene.
The Tigers enter the first international break of the season in sixth place.
Hull City’s summer transfer window came to an exciting close on Friday night, as the Tigers confirmed four signings in one hour.
James Furlong, Jaden Philogene, Boro Adyinlik, and Tyler Morton join Jason Lokilo, Liam Delap, Ruben Vinagre, Scott Twine, Aaron Connolly, and Ryan Allsop in bolstering City’s Championship lineup.
Liam Rosenior has brought in Benjamin Tetteh, Oscar Estupinan, and Callum Elder, among others, while Xavier Simons, Ryan Longman, and Ryan Woods have all been loaned out.
Rosenior has managed to keep hold of Jacob Greaves and Allahyar Sayyadmanesh despite heavy interest from rival clubs in both players.
That means Rosenior will have to make a lot of painful decisions in the coming months, and competition will be stiff. Saturday’s 1-0 victory over title favorites Leicester City further reinforced City’s optimism that this season could be one to remember.
City’s head coach desired competition throughout the squad, which he now has. He has Ryan Allsop in goal to compete with Matt Ingram, while on the right side of defense he has Cyrus Christie and Lewie Coyle, Jacob Greaves, Alfie Jones, Andy Smith, and Sean McLoughlin for the center defensive slots, with Vinagre and Furlong on the left.
Rosenior also understands Christie can play centrally, with Coyle and Greaves both capable of switching to the left if necessary. Rosenior’s defensive midfield options are Jean Michael Seri, Regan Slater, Greg Docherty, and Morton. Ozan Tufan can also operate there, giving him a variety of possibilities in the future.
While it might be said that the squad is lacking in strikers following Oscar’s departure to Metz, Rosenior has Connolly and Delap as his strike tandem, as well as Jaden Philogene, Allahyar, Jason Lokilo, Harry Vaughan, Adama Traore, Scott Twine, Dogukan Sinik, and Tufan, who can all play in forward positions.
Is this City’s best XI after the window? Allsop, Vinagre, Greaves, Jones, Christie, Seri, Slater, Philogene, Twine, Ozan, Delap.
