As Aston Villa staff upset about Liverpool’s decision, Ian Wright says Howard Webb will have to apologize.
Dominik Szoboszlai opened the score for Liverpool against Aston Villa, but Ian Wright believes the goal should have been disallowed.
According to Ian Wright, Howard Webb may need to call Aston Villa to apologize for Dominik Szoboszlai’s first goal for Liverpool.

After Trent Alexander-Arnold’s corner found him in space on the edge of the box, Szoboslai fired past Villa goalkeeper Emi Martinez after only three minutes.

The goal was later reviewed by VAR because Mohamed Salah was in an offside position in front of Martinez, but after a quick check, it was awarded and Liverpool took the lead.

However, it was reported on the Premier League’s matchday live show that Villa coaching staff objected to the goal call because they believed Martinez was clearly obstructed from seeing Salah’s shot, and Arsenal legend Wright agreed, saying refereeing chief Webb may be forced to issue another apology.

Aston Villa Interested in La Liga Attacker

Real Betis signed Ez Abde permanently from Barcelona on deadline day, but Aston Villa reportedly showed late interest in the forward.

Moussa Diaby was signed by Unai Emery’s team from Bayer Leverkusen during the recent transfer window.

However, the Premier League club was eager to make way for another attacker before the transfer deadline.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the Villans displayed late interest in Abde before the transfer window closed.

Abde preferred to join Real Betis, though the Camp Nou club reserved their interest in the transaction via a buy-back provision.

Abde, 21, represents Morocco at the international level and was a summer target for Crystal Palace.

He is highly regarded, and Xavi Hernandez’s team may bring him back to Camp Nou at some point in the future.

Barcelona needed to balance the books this summer, which may have affected their decision to let the excellent forward go.
