‘Still work to be done’ for Burnley to sign Kompany target – Clarets refuse to offer ‘dizzying contract’

On Monday, we relayed news stating that Burnley have made an offer to sign Mike Trésor and shouldn’t have an issue agreeing personal terms with the Genk star.DW SPORTS MANAGEMENT

Vincent Kompany has been an admirer of the winger and would love to bring him to Turf Moor.

Today’s Het Belang van Limburg states Burnley have stepped up a gear in their hunt for the 24-year-old.

The Clarets have returned to the Premier League and invested over €100m on new signings this summer. In order to comply with FFP rules, the report states the English club are looking to sign Trésor on a loan deal with a mandatory purchase option.

HBVL say the Jupiler Pro League side were initially hoping to collect €25m for the Belgium international’s exit but would now settle for a deal worth around €18-20m including bonuses.

Kompany, who wanted to sign Trésor last summer, is the ‘greatest asset’ for his club in this operation.Mike Trésor records the highest number of assists in a Belgian top-flight season | KRC Genk

It’s claimed negotiations are progressing well between the two clubs, and the player also sits at the table to discuss personal terms with Burnley.

The newspaper adds ‘there is still work to be done’ with regards to the attacker’s salary since Burnley are not ready to propose a ‘dizzying contract’.

Trésor managed eight goals and 24 assists last season, and if Kompany and Burnley can somehow convince him, they can get the deal over the line.

BURNLEY COULD NOW BID FOR STRIKER WEST HAM UNITED WANT TO SIGN

David Moyes’s West Ham United are now reportedly facing competition from Vincent Kompany’s Burnley for AC Milan striker Divock Origi. What next for Divock Origi after he is omitted from AC Milan's matchday squad twice in a row? - Pulse Sports Nigeria

West Ham United have been linked with former Liverpool striker Divock Origi already this summer, and now it seems that Burnley are keen on the AC Milan player.

West Ham United facing Burnley competition for Divock Origi

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has reported on Twitter that Burnley could make a bid for Origi in the final days of the summer transfer window.

The reporter has claimed that Torino and Udinese are also keen on the former Liverpool striker.

TuttoMercatoWEB reported on August 18 that West Ham have made contact with AC Milan over a potential deal for Origi.

The Hammers, who won the UEFA Europa Conference League last season,  are looking at the Belgian striker as a replacement for Gianluca Scamacca, who joined Atalanta earlier this summer.

Burnley won promotion from the Premier League at the end of last season, and although Vincent Kompany is the manager at Turf Moor, there is a very good chance that the team could be fighting for survival.

West Ham will play in the UEFA Europa League this season, and manager David Moyes will be determined to get the team to finish in the top half of the Premier League table.

We believe that a move to West Ham would appeal more to Origi than a transfer to Burnley.

The 28-year-old Belgium international striker made 107 appearances in the Premier League during his time in England.
