Nottingham Forest set to win race to sign Brazilian wonderkid
Nottingham Forest could be set to win the race to sign Brazilian wonderkid Matheus Nascimento. However, they will have to wait until January to land him as he wants to remain in Brazil with Botafogo for now.
According to The Sun, the striker is now keen to sign for Forest. First, he wants to lead his current club to the Brazilian title and wants to wait before heading to Nottingham.
Crystal Palace have held talks with representatives of the star player but the Reds have now moved ahead of the Eagles in the race to sign him.
It had previously been mentioned that Forest might sign the player and then loan him out. Olympiacos were the club mentioned and that sort of deal wouldn’t have made sense.
Nascimento actually made his debut for Botafogo at the tender age of 16-years-old. He’s since gone on to score six goals from 72 appearances in the Brazilian top flight.
Forest are on the lookout for a new striker. Taiwo Awoniyi and Chris Wood both scored on Friday night but an injury to either of those could cause some problems.

The striker looks like a decent signing for the Reds to be making. He’s an extremely talented individual and hopefully, he can come to Forest in the New Year and be capable of making an impact.
