COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State lost another quarterback to the transfer portal on Monday, as freshman Air Noland plans to enter the transfer portal.
Noland, a member of the 2024 recruiting class, never threw a pass or took a snap at Ohio State. Buried on the depth chart behind a few veterans, Ohio State also took fellow freshman Julian Sayin out of the transfer portal after Nick Saban’s retirement last winter. Sayin overtook Noland during spring practice and was the team’s No. 3 quarterback this season.
With the additions of Will Howard, Sayin and Noland last winter, that put two freshmen, and five quarterbacks, on Ohio State’s roster for the 2024 season. Now, along with backup quarterback Devin Brown, two of those signal-callers will play their 2025 seasons elsewhere.
Noland was the No. 56 overall prospect and No. 4 quarterback in the 247Sports composite rankings.
Ohio State’s 2025 quarterback room is now set to hold Julian Sayin, Lincoln Kienholz and Tavien St. Clair.
