The University of Louisville has announced that head football coach Jeff Brohm has formally agreed to a four-year contract extension, keeping him at the helm of the Cardinals program through the 2028 season. This move solidifies Brohm’s commitment to Louisville and underscores the university’s confidence in his leadership and vision for the team.
Brohm, a Louisville native and former Cardinal quarterback, returned to his alma mater as head coach in 2023. Under his leadership, the team has shown marked improvement, with an aggressive offensive strategy and renewed competitiveness in the ACC.
We are excited to extend Coach Brohm’s tenure with Louisville football,” said Louisville Athletic Director Josh Heird. “His passion for this program and his ability to connect with players and fans have been extraordinary. We believe he is the right leader to take us to new heights.”
Brohm expressed his gratitude and optimism for the future: “It’s an honor to continue coaching at the place that means so much to me. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, and I’m committed to building a program that our fans and community can be proud of for years to come.”
The extension comes with heightened expectations as the Cardinals aim to cement themselves as a powerhouse in college football. With Brohm’s leadership secured, Louisville looks poised for a bright future.
