Five-star forward Liam McNeeley’s pledge to UConn men’s basketball was a significant addition to the team’s 2024 recruiting class. Earlier this week, McNeeley, the top uncommitted player in the class of 2024 and a former Indiana commit, paid a visit to Storrs.
The No. 9 player in the 2024 class, McNeeley rounds up UConn’s incoming freshmen class along with guard Ahmad Nowell (ranked No. 34 overall) and forward Isaiah Abraham (ranked No. 58). The 6-foot-7 McNeeley, who is said to be the best shooter in the class with an extraordinary feel for the game, just won MVP honors at the McDonald’s All-American game.
The agony of losing shooters like Tristen Newton, Cam Spencer, and maybe Alex Karaban should be lessened with McNeeley’s arrival. Dan Hurley will continue to add players to the 2024–25 roster through the transfer portal now that the recruiting class for 2024 is complete, with UConn still being considered for a number of spots.
