Willian poised for Fulham return
Willian is set to put pen to paper on a new contract with Fulham after snubbing a big-money offer to join Nottingham Forest, according to the Daily Mail.
The Brazilian veteran’s Craven Cottage future has been in doubt since he rejected a new deal last month but after head coach Marco Silva made clear that he wanted the winger in his squad, the Whites offered improved terms. The Mail reports that the decisive breakthrough in talks with the London club came this weekend with 34 year-old delighted to remain in London, where his family were settled, after a fantastic first season back in the Premier League.
The former Chelsea and Arsenal veteran scored five goals and added six assists in thirty appearances for Fulham after cancelling his Corinthians contract to return to England in September. He became a crucial part of Silva’s side, who finished tenth on their return to the top flight and reached the FA Cup quarter finals, and Willian’s decision to extend his stay in SW6 will be a significant boost for the Whites after a summer of serious uncertainty.
Final formalities over the precise nature of Willian’s new contract after due to be confirmed today.

Brazilian winger Willian has decided to reject a move to Nottingham Forest and will re-sign with Premier League outfit Fulham. The Reds had held talks with the 34-year-old and it was anticipated he was considering a move to the City Ground.
Now, Fabrizio Romano has delivered a knockout blow to the Reds. He’s claimed that Willian will now sign a new deal with Fulham and the contract extension could be announced today.
Forest are desperate to bolster their squad with some new arrivals this summer. Late last week, it was anticipated that Willian might be the first through the door on Trentside.
Now, it’s a case of back to the drawing board for Forest. They are keen to add a winger to Steve Cooper’s squad this summer and now they’ll have to turn elsewhere.

Forest will want to get things sorted on the transfer front. However, quality over quantity will be prioritised this summer, with Willian viewed as someone who could bring that to the club.
Willian will now continue his career with Fulham. Clearly, he likes living in the capital and perhaps there wasn’t anything else Forest could have done to sign the winger.
