The situation in the portal is becoming more intense.
Mark Pope, the new head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats, made an immediate impression. He signed Collin Chandler, the former Utah Gatorade High School Player of the Year, just two days after his enormous news conference.
Chandler, who pledged to Pope while in the class of 2022 at BYU, took a few years off to serve as a missionary. Although it was a noble choice, he is now eager to return to hoops. He appears to be a fantastic fit for Pope’s offense and is 20 years old.
The Cats are reportedly interested in a number of additional players, although some reporters, like Matt Jones, aren’t naming them just yet. Nevertheless, he did make the following intriguing prediction:
Andrej Stojakovic, the son of former NBA player Peja Stojaković, is one definite player who was named. Although the Cats have made contact, it’s unknown how serious they are about their interest.
We will undoubtedly have a much better picture of the Cats’ roster for the upcoming season by this time next week.
Following the conclusion of spring football, a few athletes from Kentucky Football, most notably wide receiver Raymond Cottrell, entered the portal. Recall that he moved from Texas A&M to the Cats earlier in the offseason. He was previously a 4-star recruit.
The Louisville Cardinals saw six athletes sign up for the transfer portal when it opened up in other parts of the state. Below is a list of those players along with an overview of their backgrounds.
Peny Boone, a running back, was one of their larger ones. That one hurts because he had 1,400 yards and 15 touchdowns with Toledo the previous season.
What can we expect from the transfer portal today?
Given that neither team has many players, it’s absurd that you can place a wager on this game already. Having said that, are you traveling with the Cats?
