Ex-Michigan WR Thinks Jim Harbaugh And The Chargers Have A Wolverine-Centric NFL Draft Plan
Although Jim Harbaugh won a national championship to cap off his tenure at Michigan, he may have chosen to coach the Chargers, but one of his teammates appears to be preparing for a sizable Wolverine reunion in Los Angeles.
After nearly ten years, Jim Harbaugh finally accomplished his goal of becoming the Michigan Wolverines’ head coach before the 2015 season began. Last year, he guided his team to a College Football Playoff National Championship victory over Washington.
In the years preceding the championship, Harbaugh had been the subject of numerous rumors regarding a possible move to the NFL, so while it was simple to brush off the most recent flurry of rumors, he finally decided to finish his time in Ann Arbor by joining the Los Angeles Chargers.
When you consider that over a dozen players who were key to that run declared for the 2024 NFL Draft immediately following the championship game (Michigan ultimately broke a record previously set by LSU in 2020 when 18 Wolverines were invited to the Scouting Combine), there’s little doubt that Harbaugh would have faced an uphill battle in his quest to defend the championship.
How is unknown.
Fox Sports reports that Wilson believes Harbaugh wants to continue where he left off, if possible. Before making a somewhat more grounded prediction, he joked that the Chargers would utilize all of their draft selections on former Wolverines. “I wouldn’t be surprised if like all nine of us end up going,” he said. Really, though, at least five or six. He’s going to take a lot of us, in my opinion.
