Stumbling block emerges in Luton Town’s pursuit of Blackburn Rovers player
Luton Town are preparing for Premier League football and whilst reports would suggest that the Hatters are keen on strengthening across the pitch, the goalkeeping position stands out as somewhat of a priority.
According to journalist Alan Nixon, via his Patreon account last month, the Bedfordshire club are keen on Blackburn Rovers shot-stopper Thomas Kaminski, whilst Huddersfield Town’s Lee Nicholls is also admired by the Premier League newcomers.
In this previous report, Nixon claimed that Blackburn value Kaminski around the £6 million mark, however, an update from the Lancashire Telegraph revealed that Rovers are keen to bank a profit on the £450,000 they spent on the Belgian goalkeeper but the fee proposed is wide of the mark.
Now, in an update from Nixon, Luton have been knocked back twice in their pursuit of landing the signature of the 30-year-old who has a contract at Ewood Park that runs until the summer of 2025.
According to this latest report, Luton’s second attempt starts at under £1 million, and even with add-ons, it is a figure that is ‘being brushed aside’ by the Championship club.
As things stand, Luton have James Shea, Jack Walton and Matt Macey as goalkeeping options, however, there have been several names linked with strengthening that particular area.
It has been recently reported that Asmir Begovic has been in advanced talks with the newly-promoted top-flight club.
It remains to be seen if the Hatters continue pursuing a move for Kaminski after seeing a second attempt blocked by the Lancashire outfit.
