RB Javonte Williams returns to Broncos practice ahead of Week 5.
ENGLEWOOD, COLORADO – Starting running back Javonte Williams returned to practice on Thursday as the Broncos prepare for their Week 5 game against the Jets.
Williams (quad) was designated as a limited participant after missing practice on Wednesday. With his injury, the North Carolina product left Denver’s Week 4 game.
Inside linebacker Josey Jewell (hip) and wide receiver Jerry Jeudy (knee) both made strides, participating fully on Thursday after being limited on Wednesday.
Jewell did not practice last week and hence missed Denver’s Week 4 victory.
Outside linebacker Frank Clark (hip), center Lloyd Cushenberry III (quad), defensive tackle Mike Purcell (ribs), and safety Justin Simmons (hip) were among those who did not play.
Outside linebacker Baron Browning, who was cleared to return to practice but is still listed as Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform, was a limited participant as he recovers from a knee injury.
Safety P.J. Locke, who was also cleared to practice, was taken off the injury report. A player who is designated to return and is a full participant in the first practice of the week may be removed from the report if his status remains the same in subsequent practices, according to NFL regulations. If a player’s practice status changes, his name must be updated on the report.
Randy Gregory, an outside linebacker, did not practice on Thursday (due to a non-injury-related club decision).
