Vincent Kompany presents an updated Burnley injury report prior to the Tottenham match for Ekdal, Vitinho, and Ramsey.
According to Vincent Kompany, Hjalmar Ekdal’s injury from Burnley’s Carabao Cup match against Nottingham Forest is not as serious as first thought.
Following a collision in the Burnley box, the defender at the City Ground needed to be stretchered off the field after receiving oxygen treatment.
After the game, Kompany said the Swede had injured his knee and that “it could be bad.”
The Burnley manager was able to give a more upbeat update this afternoon, ahead of Saturday’s resumption to league play against Tottenham.
The Belgian also discussed Aaron Ramsey’s health, another player who had to leave Burnley’s 1-0 victory in the second round.
It’s fair to suggest that some players won’t be available for Saturday because of the slight expense of this game, according to Kompany.
“The most important thing is that we avoided the most serious injuries. We worried that it would be severe for some of them, notably Ekdal, but it will just be a typical rehab program in the end.

It obviously disqualifies him for the weekend, though.
While Vitinho was also removed, there is currently no information available regarding the defender’s health.
We’re still evaluating Vitinho as we speak, so we’ll see, Kompany stated.
Saturday will be the third and final game of Anass Zaroury’s three-match suspension for the red card he received against Manchester City, thus the Clarets will once again be without the winger.
Darko Churlinov is still unavailable because of his summer health concern, while Jordan Beyer and Michael Obafemi are both also out due to injury.
