Carlos Corberan discusses the penalty and Josh Maja’s injury West Brom has never
Carlos Corberan, the West Brom manager, briefly discussed Josh Maja’s possible ankle injury and the penalty. Albion has never

After being carried off the field at the conclusion of Albion’s scoreless draw at Bristol City on Saturday afternoon, Josh Maja suffered an ankle injury, and according to Carlos Corberan, West Brom will evaluate the situation in the following days. When Maja came off the bench for the final period of the Ashton Gate draw, he had a significant impact.

The only permanent addition Albion made this past summer was the former Bordeaux attacker, who occasionally linked nicely with teammate Brandon Thomas-Asante. Late in stoppage time, Jeremy Sarmiento, another summer arrival, played in the former Bordeaux forward. Maja was knocked to the ground on the penalty spot by Kal Naismith’s forceful challenge. Any penalty appeals coming from the opposing end were rejected.

Maja was helped as he hobbled off the field and down the tunnel by the Albion medical personnel at full time. Although he will have scans in the following days, it must be assumed that he won’t be able to travel to Watford on Wednesday at this time.

Corberan said, “Unfortunately we need to evaluate him since he received a tackle in the box.

Grady Diangana’s new task at West Brom is set by Carlos Corberan following his comeback from injury
Grady Diangana has been challenged by Carlos Corberan to improve his performances’ consistency and grow as a player at West Brom after the transfer window closed and his comeback from injury.

Prior to the September international break, the 25-year-old made his return to the field for the Baggies as a late substitute in a 2-1 loss to Huddersfield Town. He is now prepared to contend with players like Jed Wallace and Matt Phillips for playing time at The Hawthorns.

This summer, Diangana was the subject of numerous transfer rumors, including connections to Burnley of the Premier League and Leeds United of the Championship (Alan Nixon, 27 August). Corberan is excited to be collaborating with the former West Ham player once more.

On Thursday, September 14, Corberan was reported by Birmingham Live as saying, “I am extremely glad to have Diangana with me. I can’t divulge any information on Diangana that you already know. He has demonstrated his skill as a player. It is true that he needs to develop some consistency in order to improve as a player and have an impact on the games.

“I enjoy working with players who have a lot of talent and assisting them in furthering their development. He has surprised me with his defensive level over the past year, but Diangana needs to have an impact on his offensive level with the fundamental defense.

It is quite easy to forget that Diangana is only 25 years old as it feels as though he has been around The Hawthorns for so much longer. That might be partly because he’s played under five different managers in two different divisions during his four-year spell both on loan and as a permanent signing.

While many will have thought this summer was a chance to cash in on the former West Ham winger, it appears as though he is ready to prove himself as a West Brom player and remind everyone of just how good he can be in the Championship.

West Brom

Diangana was unstoppable during his first season on loan with the Baggies, contributing to 15 goals in just 30 Championship games. The former England youth international’s play-off prospects would much improve if Corberan could rediscover that side of him.

A healthy and productive Diangana would make any Championship team significantly stronger, so let’s hope he can stay well and focus on the challenge given by his boss.
