After leaving Nottingham Forest, the ‘brilliant’ 33-year-old is ready to join the Premier League.
Sheffield United want to sign Andre Ayew after he leaves Nottingham Forest. In the summer, the striker left the City Ground at the end of his short-term contract.
According to TEAMtalk, the Blades are considering signing the out-of-contract player. They’re near the bottom of the table, with only one point after four games.
To provide some short-term insurance, Ayew was signed shortly after the January transfer window closed. The midfielder had previously worked with Steve Cooper at Swansea and was regarded as a player he could rely on.
The 33-year-old struggled to make an impression at Forest. He was frequently used as a substitute for the Reds and failed to score in 13 appearances in the Garibaldi, missing a penalty away at Tottenham Hotspur in March.
Ayew has previously scored goals for other teams for which he has played. During his career, he has played for Marseille, Swansea, West Ham, Al-Sadd, and Fenerbahce.
Cooper admires Ayew greatly. During his tenure with Swansea, he described him as “brilliant in every way, shape, and form,” and he was the captain of his squad at the Liberty Stadium.
After leaving Forest, Ayew was approached by Sheffield United.
The veteran talisman may provide a short-term solution for the Blades. Paul Heckingbottom is hoping to take advantage of the free transfer market before registering his 25-man team.
Ayew might be a beneficial player for the Blades in the short term. His overall play at Forest wasn’t horrible, but he just couldn’t put the ball in the net.
This summer, Forest has moved on from Ayew and has much better options. Chris Wood has returned from injury, while Divock Origi has joined the club to compete with Taiwo Awoniyi.
Ayew might now join Sheffield United this summer. is still a free agent after leaving Forest in the summer, and he will undoubtedly appreciate the opportunity to play in the Premier League again.
