Fulham ‘ready to make a move’ for player if transfer fails – ‘Closely watching’ situation, ‘expressing strong interest’
The Italian media is today back to highlighting Fulham’s interest in AC Milan midfielder Charles De Ketelaere.
Outlet Tutto Atalanta is the one with a story claiming that even though Atalanta lead the race for his signing, there’s a heavy competition taking place.
Ajax, Wolfsburg, Real Sociedad and Fulham are those who are ‘expressing strong interest’ in De Ketelaere.
It’s claimed that those clubs are ‘closely watching’ the situation and are ‘ready to make a move’ in case the deal with Atalanta fails.
The blue and black side are said to be still ‘confident’ about the deal, but it’s admitted that this ‘pressure’ from all other clubs could complicate the situation.
The word in Italy has been that Atalanta will sign him on a loan deal paying €3m. Then they’ll have a buying option worth €26m plus bonuses.
Fulham have been linked to the midfielder for a while, and last week, it was even claimed they offered €15-20m for the outright transfer.
Maybe if they up their bid a little, they’d have a chance of convincing Milan, but that will only be possible if the deal with Atalanta completely falls through.
