‘Not training’: Fabrizio Romano says 27-year-old Everton player is really pushing to leave now

Demarai Gray is really pushing to join Fulham this summer.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who has claimed that the Everton winger ‘only wants’ the move to Craven Cottage now.

Gray has been heavily linked with a departure from Goodison Park in recent weeks and he now looks set to secure his exit after being omitted from first team training while the two clubs continue negotiations.

The 27-year-old joined Everton from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 for only £1.7 million and went onto score eleven goals in all competitions.

Despite becoming a regular on Merseyside, the Toffees will now look to cash in on Gray ahead of his contract expiry next summer. It is thought that Everton are demanding in excess of £10m for the Jamaica international.

Gray could well complete his move to the English capital in time for next weekend’s Premier League opener, when he will return to Goodison Park to take on his former team.

The forward could take the place of Willian in Marco Silva’s starting line-up, with the Brazilian on the verge of sealing a shock move to Saudi Arabia – weeks after extending his contract

Is Demarai Gray to Fulham a good ideal for Everton?

With Aleksandar Mitrovic looking likely to leave Fulham this summer, the Cottagers could well be battling Everton in the lower half of the table this season.

While Demarai Gray is very good on his day, it still doesn’t seem a bad decision to sell him to one of your rivals – especially not at that price.

The attacker will leave Merseyside for over five times as much as the Toffees paid for him and will nicely line Everton’s pockets with cash to further boost their squad.

Meanwhile, the likes of Arnaut Danjuma and Youssef Chermiti will mean Gray’s exit isn’t too much of a loss.

Willian brutally ditches Fulham in favour of Saudi move just weeks after returning to club

Willian, Fulham, January 2023

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed Willian has agreed personal terms with Saudi Arabian side Al Shabab despite having only just returned to Fulham.

If there was an avenue in which Fulham fans saw Willian leaving the club this summer, this wasn’t it. Last summer, when the winger agreed to join the club, he did so on an initial year-long deal.

As such, when he rejected an offer from the Cottagers this summer after that deal was up, and Nottingham Forest came calling, nobody involved with the club would have had many qualms with him moving, given he was a free agent.

However, on July 17, Fulham announced that Willian had agreed to rejoin the club, penning a new deal which would see him remain for one more year.

With that confirmation, the prospect of him leaving seemed to have vanished. Since then, though, the Brazilian emerged as a target of Saudi side Al Shabab’s.

Transfer insider Romano has confirmed that Willian has now shockingly agreed personal terms with the club, and his contract has been prepared.

In what’ll be a huge kick in the teeth for the Cottagers, the winger has informed them of his ‘intention to leave’ despite having penned a new deal just over two weeks ago.

Romano states it is ‘up to the clubs’ to take the matter further. Fulham could well force Willian to honour the terms of the contract he only just signed.
