HE COULD BE BRUNO GUIMARAES’ BEST MATE’: NEWCASTLE UNITED BACKED FOR DOUBLE TRANSFER DEAL
Don Hutchison has raved about Newcastle United looking to sign AC Milan star Sandro Tonali and how he could become Bruno Guimaraes’ ‘best mate’ alongside the possible capture of James Maddison.
Eddie Howe’s side are preparing for the Champions League next season, so the big names need to come through their doors and it seems as though they are starting with Sandro Tonali.
Former midfielder and Serie A expert Hutchison added that Tonali, Bruno Guimaraes and James Maddison would be ‘some midfield’ for Newcastle, as he posted on Twitter.
It seems as though it will only be a matter of time before the Tonali deal is announcedAAa and he will then be donning the black and white colours.
In the meantime, the rumours around Maddison are still flowing, with the Leicester star looking for a new club after the Midlands side were relegated to the Championship.
All in all, upon hearing the Tonali news, this is what Hutchison posted on his socials:
‘If @NUFC get Sandro Tonali. He could be Bruno’s best mate. Even tho Tonali is a no 8 himself. He will allow Bruno to get forward even more. Maddison, Bruno and Tonali is some midfield, on top of what they’ve already got. NUFC making big strides
On Pirlo comparisons: “Nothing like Pirlo. Tonali lazily gets labeled with Pirlo because he likes him and has long hair.”
Maddison next?
Just like Tonali, the England international suits Eddie Howe’s system and he would provide that something different from the rest.
The others, from Joelinton to Longstaff, are hard-hitting players, but Maddison likes to get into pockets, get on the half-turn, weave and dance like a champion boxer, and on occasions, showcase his shooting from a distance.
If, by the end of the window, Howe has Maddison and Tonali through the club’s doors, then that midfield will cause some damage next season.
