Trevin Knell, a standout guard for BYU basketball, recently bid farewell to the program after a distinguished four-year career. Over his tenure, Knell appeared in 114 games, starting 52, and averaged 6.7 points per game. He was recognized for his academic excellence, earning Academic All-Big 12 First Team honors in 2024 .

 

In his final season, Knell delivered memorable performances, including a career-high 22 points and 10 rebounds in a victory over Fresno State . He also contributed significantly in a win against Wyoming, scoring 15 points on 6-of-7 shooting .

 

Knell’s departure marks the end of an era for BYU basketball, as he transitions to new opportunities beyond collegiate play.

These past years at BYU have been unforgettable. I felt the love and support of this community, and I’m beyond grateful for every moment wearing BYU across my chest,” wrote Knell on X. “To my teammates, you’ve become brothers. The battles, the memories, and the lifelong bonds have created a family. To my coaches, thank you for believing in me, pushing me, and shaping me both on and off the court. To my family, your unwavering love and support and sacrifices have been my foundation. Above all, I thank God for blessing me with this opportunity. His plan has always been greater than mine.

Trevin Knell was one of the top 3-point shooters in BYU basketball history

Trevin Knell appeared in 150 games during his BYU career and finished 47th all-time in scoring with 1,099 points.

 

He finished fourth in program history in three-point field goals made with 239. Knell knocked down 39.8% of his attempts, which was good for 12th all-time in 3-point field goal percentage.
