While the Green Bay Packers finished with an outstanding 11 wins, there is still a sense that something is lacking.

Given that Matt LaFleur’s club was immediately ousted from the playoffs after losing 22-10 in their Wild Card encounter, it’s clear that this team needs more aid.

Christian Watson’s absence from their playoff clash was a blow, and his ACL tear is projected to keep him out for much of the 2025 season as well. With Watson’s continued absence, Jordan Love will have to rely on other wideouts to get by.

The Packers might stand steady and count on development from within. Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and Dontayvion Wicks will be 25 or younger next season. It’s possible that none of them have hit their ceilings yet.

However, the Packers may also seek to add additional experience to their receiving corps in free agency.

However, the Packers may also seek to add additional experience to their receiving corps in free agency.

“Marquise Brown is one of the fastest wide receivers on the free-agent market and fits the profile of what Green Bay needs,” Sampson wrote. “Though injuries limited him to just two games with the Kansas City Chiefs this season, his career averages — 11.6 yards per reception — demonstrate his ability to stretch the field. At 27 years old, Brown still has plenty of gas left in the tank, and his explosiveness could open up Green Bay’s offense in ways it sorely lacked last year. He’s not a traditional No. 1 receiver, but that’s not what Green Bay needs him to be. What he would bring is a dynamic deep threat to complement Jordan Love’s arm and draw defensive attention away from the Packers’ other weapons.”

Adding Brown would ideally bring more stability to the offense while still allowing plenty of room for their younger receivers to grow into their best form. If nothing else, he’d present a speed threat, which, as Sampson noted, should open up more space for the other receivers to roam.
