True freshman Jeremiah Smith has taken over the Big Ten in 2024, leading the Ohio State Buckeyes to the national championship game.
Ohio State will face the Notre Dame Fighting Irish for the national title on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Ahead of the team’s matchup in the College Football Playoff, Ohio State announced Smith received a prestigious honor, amid a historic season with the Buckeyes.
Smith has been named a Freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America.
He received the honor shortly after winning the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year.
In his true freshman season with the Buckeyes, Smith has recorded 14 touchdowns and 1,227 yards on 71 receptions. He leads the Buckeyes in receiving touchdowns and receiving yards.
Through the Buckeyes’ three games in the College Football Playoff, Smith has totaled four touchdowns and 293 yards on 14 receptions.
