The New York Giants are coming off the worst season in franchise history, but teams around the NFL still have interest in pieces of the coaching staff

With head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen returning for a fourth season, there are expected to be some changes within the coaching staff at some level.

While there haven’t been any rumblings about offensive coordinator Mike Kafka being let go, there have been some requests from other teams around the league searching for a new head coach.

Despite the Giants offense being one of the worst units in the NFL, Kafka has a history of success back when he was working with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

A Chicago native and Northwestern alum, Kafka was a graduate assistant at Northwestern in 2016 and began his NFL coaching career with the Chiefs as an offensive quality control coach (2017).

Kafka moved up the ladder in Kansas City quickly, taking on roles as the quarterbacks coach (2018-2021) and passing game coordinator (2020-2021) for Patrick Mahomes.

The Giants hired Kafka in 2022 as the offensive coordinator after Brian Daboll was named head coach. Kafka added assistant head coach to his duties in 2024.
