The South Carolina Gamecocks have added a hometown hero to their 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of four-star wide receiver Jordon Gidron, a standout from Ridgeview High School in Columbia. Previously ranked as the No. 1 player in the state for the 2026 class, Gidron recently reclassified, joining another four-star recruit, Donovan Murph, who also made the leap.

Gidron’s commitment signifies a tremendous boost for the Gamecocks, who are trending to have their best wide receiver class under head coach Shane Beamer. Gidron’s addition comes on the heels of projected commitments from other top prospects, including four-star WR Donovan Murph from nearby Irmo and four-star WR Malik Clark from Rock Hill. Together with Gidron, the Gamecocks are building a formidable receiving corps that includes four-star commits Brian Rowe and Lex Cyrus, as well as three-star commit Jayden Sellers, the brother of QB LaNorris Sellers.

Under first-year wide receivers coach Mike Furrey, South Carolina has transformed its receiving room, showing promise in both player development and recruitment.

As South Carolina continues to build momentum in their recruiting efforts, the commitment of Jordon Gidron, alongside other promising talents, marks a pivotal milestone for the program’s future.
