COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State 2026 offensive line target Will Conroy committed to Oklahoma on Monday, as the in-state target chose the Sooners over the Buckeyes.
Conroy is the No. 372 overall prospect and No. 29 interior offensive line prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings. He attends St. Ignatius in Cleveland.
The move comes after an up-and-down recruitment, where Ohio State was seemingly in and out of the mix with Conroy. He left Ohio State out of his top five list earlier in the year, which was a decision that was certainly noteworthy over the summer.
“It’s gotten better for sure,” Conroy told Cleveland.com of his relationship with Ohio State offensive line coach Justin Frye in September. “I’m not sure what happened, something happened, but it’s gotten a lot better. Definitely more consistent and it’s just been better.”
Conroy is one of many talented offensive linemen in the state that are set to enter their senior seasons in 2025. Other notable names on that list include Maxwell Riley, Adam Guthrie and Sam Greer.
Riley plays at Avon Lake, Guthrie at Miami Trace and Sam Greer at Archbishop Hoban.
While Conroy’s commitment didn’t end up with the Buckeyes, the importance of landing as many of the trio of Riley, Guthrie and Greer has now certainly increased. Especially after Ohio State signed just three offensive linemen in the 2025 recruiting class.
