Stephen Curry has signed a new one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors worth $62.6 million. This deal ensures he will stay with the team through the 2026-27 NBA season. At that point, Curry will be 39 years old, solidifying his legacy with the Warriors, the only team he’s played for since being drafted in 2009.

This extension makes Curry the highest-paid player in the NBA for that season, pushing his career earnings beyond $500 million, a milestone reached by only a few players, including LeBron James and Kevin Durant. The extension was the maximum allowed under the NBA’s “over-38” rule, which limits contract lengths for players approaching their late 30s.

Curry remains focused on winning, despite the Warriors’ recent challenges. Having lost long-time teammate Klay Thompson in a trade, the team will lean on young talent and offseason acquisitions to remain competitive
