Fulham ready to buckle as Al-Hilal prepare to make mega third offer for Aleksandar Mitrovic
Fulham are reportedly ready to buckle in the face of further interest from ian club Al-Hilal as a third offer is prepared for star striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.
The Saudi Pro League outfit have already seen their first two offers for the 28-year-old frontman rejected,Saudi Arab but are now set to return with an offer worth around £50million.
Mitrovic is currently training alone despite joining Fulham on their pre-season tour of the United States.
It was reported recently that the Sebrian is trying to force the club into sanctioning his sale, with Sky Sports stating that Mitrovic has personally contacted Cottagers chief Tony Khan to ask him to accept an offer this summer.
And it now appears that Fulham are ready to do business, with Football Insider claiming that a £50m offer represent both a record fee for a Saudi club as well as a club-record sale for the west London side.
The former Newcastle man joined Fulham in 2018 on an initial loan deal before making a permanent switch for £27million.
He has gone on to have an incredibly successful time at Craven Cottage, scoring 111 goals and adding 22 assists in 205 games.
Indeed, Mitrovic netted 15 times last season as Marco Silva’s side consolidated their Premier League status with an impressive 10th-placed finish.
Two more Fulham stars tipped for exits
However, the Cottagers frontman is not the only one of Silva’s men attracting interest this summer, with midfielder Joao Palhinha and centre-back Tosin Adarabioyo also wanted by other Premier League clubs.
Fulham have already warned off West Ham making another bid for Palhinha to replace Declan Rice. However, that is probably now a moot point after the Portugal international suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder in the friendly clash with Brentford over the weekend.
As for Adarabioyo, Tottenham are expected to make a move for the big defender after so far failing in their attempts to land other targets to bolster Ange Postecoglou’s weak back line.
But for Fulham, their immediate focus will now likely be on offloading Mitrovic and getting signficant funds on board that can then be reinvested in Silva’s squad.
