Talented goalkeeper Lisa Rodgers completes move to Celtic FC Women

Celtic FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of talented goalkeeper, Lisa Rodgers, who joins the Hoops from fellow SWPL side Hearts.

The 17-year-old becomes Elena Sadiku’s first signing since she was appointed the club’s new Head Coach, with the youngster putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half year deal.Article image:Talented goalkeeper Lisa Rodgers completes move to Celtic FC Women

Rodgers initially came through the Academy at Hearts, being promoted to the first-team as a 15-year-old.

The shot-stopper then made her debut at that age in the Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle Stadium in March 2022.

Last campaign, Rodgers also spent time out on loan joining SWPL 2 side Boroughmuir Thistle where she faced Celtic in the fourth round of the Scottish Cup.

That wasn’t the last time Rodgers would come up against the Celts, as she went on to make an appearance for Hearts at Paradise in front of a record crowd during the final game of last campaign.

After impressing at an early age, the youngster has also collected 16 caps for Scotland at youth level, including representing the Under-19s on 11 occasions.

Lisa Rodgers will now join up with Elena Sadiku’s squad after completing her move to Glasgow in the January window.

The club would also like to wish the very best of luck for the future to goalkeeper, Rachael Johnstone, who, as part of the deal, has joined Hearts on a permanent basis.
