ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) – Cleveland Browns running back D’Onta Foreman was flown to a hospital in Roanoke Thursday after sustaining a potential head injury, according to the team and sister station WOIO.
A WOIO reporter says, “Xrays and CT Scans are negative. He’s expected to be released from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital this (Thursday) afternoon and will return to the team.”
After the injury, he was flown from team training camp at the Greenbrier in West Virginia.
The team was practicing at The Greenbrier Resort in White Sulphur Springs. The 28-year-old was flown for further medical evaluation after the Browns athletic training staff deployed its “standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman,” according to information from the team.
During practice today, Browns RB D’Onta Foreman sustained a direct blow to the head that resulted in neck pain. The Browns athletic training staff deployed their standard emergency action procedures to immobilize Foreman. He was taken to an ambulance and is being transported via helicopter to a Medical Center in Roanoke, VA to undergo further medical evaluation. Foreman had movement in all his extremities. Foreman is in his seventh season in the NFL. He was drafted in the third round of the 2017 draft by the Houston Texans out of the University of Texas. He has also spent time with the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears.
