NFL expert predicts New York Giants face another brutal season
Even though the New York Giants made some acquisitions throughout the summer on both sides of the ball, one NFL analyst doesn’t think things are getting better. Nate Davis of USA Today Sports projects that the Giants will have a worse record in 2024 than they had in the previous campaign.
Finishing with a 4-13 record, tied with three other teams, the Giants come out of these predictions with, at worst, the No. 4 overall pick.
The Giants seemingly have a wide range of outcomes for the upcoming campaign and after what they put on the field last season, earning a top-five pick isn’t something that should be dismissed out of hand.
If the Giants wound up in this scenario, it would be interesting to see what would happen with the current regime.
A top-five pick would certainly give Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll a chance to draft their own quarterback while moving on from Daniel Jones, but it’s unclear whether the duo would survive a 4-13 campaign after going 6-11 in 2023.
Considering no head coach since 2016 has lasted more than two full seasons at the helm, Daboll’s seat would become increasingly hot if the team finished worse than it did last year.
