EUGENE — Oregon’s RJ Gordon is joining the New York Mets.

The Ducks pitcher was drafted by the Mets in the 13th round with the No. 383 overall pick of the MLB draft on Tuesday.

Gordon went 7-6 with a 5.13 ERA last season at UO. He allowed 59 runs (54 earned) on 92 hits in 94.2 innings with 87 strikeouts and 46 walks and held opposing hitters to a .256 average. In Pac-12 play, he struck out 59 batters in 58.1 innings and held opponents to .239.

Gordon is the 69th Oregon player drafted since 2009 and the second selected in this year’s draft, joining Brock Moore.
