Lenny Kravitz is like the Regina George of the celebrity world – minus the b**chiness and the blonde hair.
But like the queen bee in Mean Girls, whatever the rocker does is instantly regarded as cool and you’ll probably see a lot of people following suit straight afterwards.
If Kravitz is posting shirtless selfies looking absolutely ripped, so are we.
And if the music star reckons having a bromance with your ex’s new man is the way to do it, so do we.
So following on from the fact that Kravitz confessed that he hadn’t had sex in nine years back in May, don’t be surprised if you discover that everyone’s turned celibate all of a sudden.
The 60-year-old, who was formerly hitched to Lisa Bonet, revealed that he hasn’t got it on with anyone for the last nine years as he made a vow to abstain from sex outside of marriage.
Describing his decision as a ‘spiritual thing’, he explained that he is completely content without sex and was somewhat influenced to make his choice by his parent’s – Sy Kravitz and Roxie Roker – relationship.
Speaking to The Guardian, Kravitz said: “I have become very set in my ways, in the way I live.
“After the marriage, I became more like him [his father]. I was becoming a player. I didn’t like it. I didn’t want to be that guy. “So I had to tackle that and it took years. Discipline. Not letting my own desires take over.”
Although the Kravitz’s celibacy remains in full swing, the musician isn’t the first famous face to do so – so let’s have a look at what other stars have also taken sex off the table over the years.
Lady Gaga
Although it provides a lot of inspiration for her music – (go back and listen to Poker Face again) – Lady Gaga, 38, previously revealed that she was happily going through a dry spell back in 2010.
The pop star, real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, made this admission long before she got with businessman Michael Polansky four years ago.
She explained at the time: “I don’t really have sex. I’m quite celibate now. I don’t really get time to meet anyone.
“I also think I’m afraid of depleting my energy. I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they’re going to take my creativity from me through my vagina.”
Protect that creativity at all costs, Gaga.
Orlando Bloom
Before becoming an iconic celebrity couple with his other half Katy Perry, 39, actor Orlando Bloom went celibate for six months.
Prior to meeting the singer and embarking on a romance in 2016, the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 47, said he fancied a ‘detox’ from sex to gain some clarity on his life and get his priorities back on track.
The dad-of-two originally only planned to do a three month stint, but found that he was loving the benefits it brought him – and even gave up watching porn too.
Bloom said: “I was really enjoying the way I was relating to women, and to the feminine within myself.”
However, he advises against going celibate for the long term.
“It was insane,” he added. “I don’t think it’s healthy. I don’t think it was advisable. “You have to keep it moving down there.”
Kourtney Kardashian
We all know there’s nothing Kourtney Kardashian, 45, loves more than being a mum – but as we all know, a stork didn’t drop all of her kids off and making a baby obviously requires a bit of rumpy pumpy.
However, before she and her husband Travis Barker, 48, welcomed little baby Rocky Thirteen in November, the couple decided to take some time off of their bedroom activities while trying to get rid of all the toxins inside their bodies.
During an episode of The Kardashians in 2022, the reality star revealed that they were both taking party in a Panchakarma cleanse to increase their chances of conceiving during her IVF journey.
“Our last egg retrieval was not successful, so our new thing that we’re going to be trying is a Panchakarma cleanse, which is Ayurvedic,” Kardashian explained.
“It’s like 3,000 years old, which will get all of the toxins that are like deep within our tissue out of our bodies.”
It involves giving up caffeine, alcohol, exercise, sugar and obviously sex – and she said ‘it actually made everything better’.
