    • Let me open that I have absolutely no interest in Patrik Laine being on the hockey team I follow and love. I declared him as a “Me” player a very long time ago, and when I deem someone a “Me” player, that player will have a very hard time getting off of my list.
    • I think it was the 3rd year of his ELC when he was in Winnepeg. That is the year he was complaining because he was not on the top line. I am not sure about anyone else, but when someone complains about not playing with the team’s best players, I immediately go to him wanting to play with talented players to pad their stats for their next contract. I don’t think they are complaining about who they are playing with because they think it makes it harder for the “Team” to win.
I think he wanted out of Winnepeg ( possibly he didn’t ), now he wants out of Colombus. It wasn’t until a month or so ago I was even aware he recently entered the player assistance program. I don’t follow his career at all, but that is something that has absolutely no bearing on why I don’t want him on my team. I would gladly welcome a player that was coming out of that program, if I had not already placed that player on my “Me” player list.
I want character players wearing the Bleu Blanc et Rouge. I want to cheer for character players that have a main goal of doing everything in their power to make the team they play for better and in the best possible position to bring our 25th Stanley Cup home. Not players who place more importance on their own personal accolades.
It is entirely possible I unfairly deemed him a “Me” player, but if you get on my list it is very hard for a player to get off of it.
