Stockport County signs Jayden Fevrier from Colchester United as pre-season fixtures finalised
Stockport County have secured the signing of Jayden Fevrier from Colchester United. The 21-year-old winger will join the club once the transfer window opens this summer.
Fevrier, who was named Colchester’s Young Player of the Year last season, has signed a three-year deal with an option for an additional year. He joins his former teammate Jay Mingi in making the move to Edgeley Park.
A versatile player, Fevrier is capable of playing on either wing or as a wing-back. He made 48 appearances for Colchester last season, contributing four goals and four assists.
His dribbling skills were a standout feature, with 115 completed dribbles in League Two—more than any other player in the division.
Fevrier began his career at West Ham’s academy, joining at the age of six. He made his debut for their U18 team at 14 and became the youngest player to represent the Hammers’ reserve side at 15.
In 2021, he signed his first professional contract with West Ham and won the club’s Dylan Tombides Award for outstanding scholarship before moving to Colchester.
First-Team Manager Dave Challinor expressed his enthusiasm for the new signing. “We are absolutely delighted to have been able to bring Jayden to the football club,” he said.
“He already has the pace, power, and dribbling ability to cause real problems. It’s our job to refine that and get him into areas on the pitch where he can hurt defenders and add the one thing missing from his game, which is numbers around goals and goal involvements.”
Challinor added, “Jayden is hugely motivated to improve and is very analytical about his game. We can all see how driven he is and how excited he is to be coming into the club. I’m sure he’ll be a big hit with our supporters.”
Fevrier will don the number ten shirt..
Stockport County have also confirmed their final pre-season game for the 2024/25 season, hosting Championship side Stoke City at Edgeley Park. The match is scheduled for Saturday 27th July, with a 2pm kickoff.
Stoke City, who finished 17th in the Championship last season, will be one of three Championship opponents for Stockport County this pre-season. The other fixtures include matches against newly promoted Derby County and Blackburn Rovers.
