Newcastle target £45m winger and striker as Everton eye shock Minteh move – Report
According to The Mail, Everton are considering a summer move for Newcastle United loan star Yankuba Minteh.
The same piece reveals that Michael Olise is one of our top priorities heading into the window and has a £45m release clause that could rise to £60m with add-ons, with Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin also eyed up as potential cover for Alexander Isak.
It’s unclear if the Toffees will target the Gambian winger on a permanent or loan deal, but their financial issues suggest the latter is more realistic given we’d demand big money for the 19-year-old talent who scored 11 times with Feyenoord last season.
A Premier League loan could be ideal for his development, especially now Arne Slot has left Feyenoord; who are keen to bring him back for another year.
Speaking about his future last month, Minteh said: “Ultimately, the Premier League is my goal. Newcastle United is the club that have a lot of confidence in me. I have no idea what the future looks like. I was in Newcastle once, when they played against Borussia Dortmund. I will hear soon what plans the club has for me. I’m still young, I have time, maybe they want to loan me out again.
“I don’t know yet, I’ll hear about it. I’ll let everything happen to me. I know only that one day I will play in the Premier League (for Newcastle).”
