Interesting QB to Land With The Browns

This summer, the Cleveland Browns have been linked to almost every quarterback, including Daniel Jones, Kirk Cousins, Aaron Rodgers, and Russell Wilson.

It appears that the Browns will have to turn to the trade market or the draft in order to acquire a new franchise quarterback at this time, as almost all of the free agents are no longer available.

The Browns are being mentioned as a possible destination for another intriguing name that has surfaced.

According to Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports, the Browns may still look into a trade for Joe Milton of the New England Patriots, even though they already acquired Kenny Pickett this offseason.

Milton is a valuable lottery ticket, but none of these possible trading partners should consider him a legitimate starter due to his inexperience. This is particularly valid for a team such as the Browns.

Milton’s collegiate background is also noteworthy; he played for three seasons at the University of Tennessee. Jimmy Haslam, the owner of the Browns, should be well acquainted with Milton because he attended Tennessee and continues to be active at the university, according to Sullivan.

As the free-agent market has dried up, Milton’s name has come up again in trade rumors in the past week. This is not surprising considering that he has all the skill in the world and no chance of playing time with Drake Maye, the 2024 No. 3 selection, on the team.

He was impressive, going 22-for-29 for 241 yards and a score, adding 16 rushing yards and another touchdown on the ground. He started in Week 18 of the previous season.

The Pats may be seeking to trade him for a somewhat higher choice after spotting enough potential in him during his time at Tennessee to choose him in the sixth round of last year’s draft.

Although it’s still likely that the Browns will select a quarterback with at least one of their 10 draft picks, Milton would be an interesting alternative if they’d prefer to go for a young quarterback.
