Blackburn Rovers ’65-Goal’ signing Striker Daniel Farke is the coach.

Semir Telalovic, a center-forward for Borussia Monchengladbach, has officially signed for Blackburn Rovers for an unknown sum.

The 23-year-old signed a three-year contract with the Riversiders, with an additional year’s option, extending his tenure at Ewood Park through at least 2026. Blackburn has stated that Telalovic will also don jersey number 33.

Since Daniel Farke, the current head coach of Leeds United, oversaw Telalovic’s debut at Borussia Park back in January, the Lilywhites manager will be well-versed on the forward when the two clubs square off for the first time in December.

At the center-forward’s formal unveiling, Rovers’ Director of Football Gregg Broughton expressed his excitement to the club’s media.

We are thrilled to add Semir as our second striker on a long-term deal and our seventh addition of the summer.

Semir, who made his debut for Monchengladbach under Daniel Farke last year after excelling for their second team, will bolster our forward options with his tremendous speed, finishing prowess, and directness.

Additionally, according to Broughton, the former SSV Ehingen-Süd striker has 65 goals in well over twice as many games as he has played in his entire professional career:

At the age of 23, Semir still has a ton of room to grow, yet he has played senior football for six years and scored 65 goals in 132 appearances.

“I’m a striker that loves to be in the game, play football, and score goals. I’m quick and powerful. I believe that my physical makeup and pace will translate well to playing in England.

“This is a big step for me, but I wanted to take a big step, and I think at my age I can improve a lot playing in a new country, in a new culture, and in front of new supporters.”

Author’s Opinion

It’s unknown how Broughton arrived to the conclusion that Telalovic had scored 65 goals in his career to far, but if accurate, it’s a staggering accomplishment – almost one goal per two games.
Ideally, Telalovic can make a strong start and show off his abilities.
