Crystal Palace midfielder poised to link up with League One side

Wycombe Wanderers are poised to land Crystal Palace midfielder Killian Phillips on loan, reports Matt Woosnam.

Wycombe Wanderers are expected to win the race to sign the Premier League prospect on a temporary basis following the start of the new League One season last weekend.

Phillips, 21, spent time in the third tier with Shrewsbury Town last term and made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Shrews, finding the net on three occasions.

The Athletic reporter Woosnam now reports (see tweet below) that the Chairboys are ‘set’ to lure him to Adams Park to bolster their options in the middle of the park.Kilbarrack's finest Killian Phillips ready to take flight with the Eagles in Premier League | Independent.ie

Wycombe could see Phillips as someone to inject more quality into their midfield department. They were beaten 3-0 on the opening day at home to Exeter City but beat MK Dons 2-0 away in the Carabao Cup last time out.

Phillips signed for Crystal Palace in January 2022 after a successful trial. He started his career with spells in Ireland at Kilbarrack United and Drogheda United before catching the eye in the League of Ireland with the latter.

The USA-born man made 31 appearances for the Drogs before his permanent switch to Selhurst Park and he has since played once for the Eagles’ first-team in a cup clash against Oxford United last year.

Phillips has also been involved with the top flight outfit during pre-season games over the past couple of years too. The Republic of Ireland youth international was given the green light to head out the exit door last winter when Shrewsbury came calling to get some experience under his belt.

He was a hit during his time at New Meadow and is now heading back to the Football League to continue his development.

Crystal Palace reach full agreement with Chelsea for 20-year-old versatile prodigy

Lewis Hall set to join Crystal Palace on loan

Crystal Palace and Chelsea have reportedly agreed to a loan deal for the services of 18-year-old versatile prodigy Lewis Hall.Crystal Palace eyeing a loan move for Chelsea talent Lewis Hall this summer

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Lewis Hall will represent Crystal Palace in the 2023/24 campaign. The Eagles have sealed an agreement with Chelsea over a season-long loan deal for the 18-year-old versatile prodigy. And the South London club will likely officiate the transfer this week.

Lewis Hall has been with Chelsea for over a decade. The English under-21 international started his youth career at Binfield before arriving at the West London club in 2012. And after rapidly rising through the ranks at Chelsea, he made his first-team debut as a 17-year-old in January 2022.

But the 18-year-old received more opportunities to make his mark last season. And the versatile prodigy has made 12 appearances thus far for Chelsea, chipping in with one assist. But Hall’s prospects at Chelsea are not bright heading into the 2023/24 season. So it made sense for the West London club to loan him for the upcoming campaign.

Reports from earlier this year suggested that the Blues were ready to hand Hall a new deal. But while the English wonderkid might sign a new contract with Chelsea, it behoves him to embark on a loan spell heading into the 2023/24 season. And Crystal Palace recently emerged as the most serious suitor in the race to sign him.

Lewis Hall will become new Crystal Palace player this week. Positive talks took place on player side after the agreement reached with Chelsea last week

Talks between Crystal Palace and Chelsea ramped up in the last few days. And recent reports claimed that the 18-year-old was close to completing a move to Selhurst Park. The agreement has now materialised, with the two clubs reaching a consensus on a season-long loan deal for the youngster.Lewis Hall hands Pochettino transfer dilemma amid Crystal Palace interest| All Football

Crystal Palace can do with a midfielder and a left-back heading into the 2023/24 season. Tyrick Mitchell is the only recognised left-back in Roy Hodgson’s squad, while the midfield unit is running thin. So Hall can be a two-pronged solution for Crystal Palace for the upcoming campaign.

Romano has suggested that the loan deal should formalise this week. And the 18-year-old versatile prodigy will spend the entire season at Selhurst Park. It will be interesting to see if the Chelsea wonderkid turns out regularly for Crystal Palace after completing his move to the South London club
